Say Anything have signed with Equal Vision Records and will begin recording their fourth studio album with producer Tim O’Heir [Say Anything, All-American Rejects] in August 2011.
“Once we found our label, we knew there was only one producer who could bring the kind of ambitious, freethinking, over-the-top approach to the recording process that we were looking for,” Bemis explains. “We are proud to announce that for the first time in the better part of a decade, we will be returning to the studio with Tim O’Heir, the super-sick producer who helped us shape Say Anything‘s “¦Is a Real Boy into what it is.”

Say Anything has sold nearly half a million copies of their previous releases, performed on Late Night With Conan O’Brien, and has been praised by the likes of Rolling Stone, Spin, Alternative Press and more. Say Anything rose to prominence with their 2004 studio album debut “¦Is a Real Boy and went on to release the equally eclectic and energetic, In Defense of the Genre (2007) and their self-titled LP (2009). This summer, Say Anything and O’Heir will reunite to rekindle the raw energy, dynamism and exuberance that sparked the band’s early success.
O’Heir elaborates, “About three weeks ago I received a phone call. Yeah, that phone call, the one that you long for and fear at the same time. I was asked if I wanted to work with Say Anything again. Of course I said yes, an emphatic yes! It’s been seven years and for all we went through the first time around, we made something that all artists strive for ““ history. Get ready, we’re about to do it again.”
In addition to releasing the upcoming full-length album, Equal Vision Records will also release a wide variety of previously unreleased Say Anything material, vinyl, rarities collections and other forthcoming projects.
Bemis concludes, “We want you to think of EVR when you think of Say Anything and the other way around, as they have become not just our partners but our friends and part of our team.”
