Underoath Post Studio Update
Underoath has posted an update. Check it out below.
Man it’s been a while since I posted on here. So much has happened since our last tour ended. As many of you may know we shot a film about our last US tour. We get to watch the first edit this week and I’m so excited! We had a three man film crew follow our bus the entire tour. They shot 70-80 hours of footage in about 6 weeks. That’s like 4800 minutes! We only need 90, so the past few months have been spent sifting through each and every frame, trimming the fat and letting Ryan (director/editor) tell the story of Underoath and our tour. We also shot a live show in Philly at the Electric Factory and we’re going to have a bunch of those songs cut into the documentary. We also recorded tons of the shows on the tour and will be releasing a live record in conjunction with the film and it will have 12 songs on it. We have the privilege of having a bunch of our friends and colleagues working on this project with us. Adam D. mixed all of the Philly tunes for the live concert stuff, Beau from Saosin is mixing the live tracks for the live disc, Art&Industry shot all of the live footage rom Philly, Andy Vickery from R.A.W. studios engineered and recorded all live material, and so on down the line. This project has been quite an undertaking but in the end I think it will come out to be something pretty sweet. I know originally when I posted about the beginning of filming I spoke about wanting to ranch out and do something more meaningful with our film and not do what we did with 777, and just cut up a bunch of tour footage, and I stand know looking at the project as a whole and I can say we’ve achieved that goal. I can’t wait for you all to see it, and I hope it’s as much fun to watch as it was/is to make. We’ve also been writing for the new record. We go into the studio in a month!!! We’re recording with Matt Goldman and Adam D in Atlanta for 5 weeks. Those dudes are some of the best guys to work with in music period. We have 8 songs done right now and They are coming along really well. Some of the heaviest stuff we have ever written, as well as some of the most experimental. I think you will all enjoy it when it’s done and we’ll be making sure to keep all of you in the loop!!! Anyway, this is the first of many more frequent posts. We have a lot going on and you all have a lot to know!!!! Be blessed friends…We’ll see you soon.Â

Driving East – The Future Of The Free World Is Riding On This One
Artist: Driving East
Album: The Future Of The Free World Is Riding On This One
Label: The Militia Group
Purchase: Itunes
Release Date: January,15 2007
Overall: 7.0
Music: 7.0
Lyrics: 6.5
Production: 7.0
Before I start I have to be completely honest I had really high expectations for Driving East and their first full length on The Militia Group. A label who spawned the careers of bands like Rufio, Cartel, and many others. So it goes without saying Driving East have huge shoes to fill.
Well the shoe fits, but there is plenty of room to grow. Driving East has created a very cookie cutter version album of what pop-punk in this day and age is. Not to say that it is bad in any way, as there are some gems on this album such as the song “Somebody Get Me Out Of Here”. The song itself is probably the strongest one on the album as far as its composition, and lyrically. My big complaint on this record is the sound quality of some songs are too consistent with the others. Overall it is a good effort from the band, and I am expecting big things from them in the future.
If your down with this you’ll be down with..
