D.R.U.G.S Release First Song; Tour With Eyes Set To Kill
D.R.U.G.S. have released their first song “If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is” which you can hear below. The song is also available for download on their Facebook page.
D.R.U.G.S., fronted by singer and songwriter Craig Owens, will release their debut album on Decaydance/Sire Records in early 2011. After Owens left his previous band, which he had fronted since 2001, he turned his energy toward creating a new project that would eclipse anything he’d done in the past by founding D.R.U.G.S., which stands for Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows.
“Over the last 12 months I’ve done a lot of growing as a human being, as far as figuring out who I am,” Owens says. “The idea for this band stemmed from the fact that I wanted to do this right; I wanted to make the biggest band I possibly could, and that’s exactly what I’ve done here.”
D.R.U.G.S. pairs Owens with other musicians who have undergone similar experiences: Underminded guitarist Nick Martin, From First To Last guitarist Matt Good, Matchbook Romance drummer Aaron Stern, and Story Of The Year bassist Adam Russell. Though they had never played together before, they have put their undeniable chemistry as a unit to use creating something vital and new.
Recorded in LA with John Feldmann, (The Used, Panic at the Disco), D.R.U.G.S.’ debut is the most aggressive album Owens has made in his musical career, yet it still retains the keen sense of melody that has helped him become one of today’s most celebrated frontmen. “It was so cathartic making this record because music is my form of therapy,” he explains, “I can’t wait to get out there and play these songs live because it’ll get all those feelings out,” he says.
D.R.U.G.S. will hit the road for their Rise From The Ashes headlining tour, featuring special guests Eyes Set To Kill and New Medicine, on November 28th. Please see below for all upcoming tour dates and visit www.thisisdrugs.com to stream the song and watch an exclusive trailer.

Motion City Soundtrack Start Popsickle Festival
Motion City Soundtrack will headline the first ever Popsickle Festival in their hometown of Minneapolis, MN on December 18th. The band is starting the festival in the vein of Lollapalooza and hope to continue it every winter. More information is available below.
Taking over Minneapolis’ famed First Avenue and spilling over into 7th Street Entry, the all ages festival will feature headliners Motion City Soundtrack along with Minus the Bear, Foxy Shazam, Gold Motel, A Great Big Pile of Leaves, Now Now Every Children, One for the Team, Gospel Gossip, Take Cover and The Chord and the Fawn with more to be announced.
As one of the few festivals taking place in the winter time, Popsickle will fill the void that is much needed during the desolate set of winter months. More than just a concert, Popsickle will provide fans a fervent day in December of music and friends and fun, that will keep them warm all winter long.
We wanted to start a festival in the vein of what Lollapalooza was to me in the early “˜90’s “” a bunch of bands that most likely would never have toured together, but were all doing something interesting and unique in that particular point in time. Our version of that will be much smaller of course, but the idea is the same. We hope to make this an annual festival that takes place in Minnesota every winter and hopefully can continue to grow in both scope and girth. ““ Justin Pierre/MCS
Popsickle will introduce fans to new bands as well as introduce fans to each other! The annual festival, a celebration of winter and great music, will be something fans can mark on their calendar and continue to look forward to every December.
