The Graduate Set Release Date For New Album
The Graduate will release their new album, Only Every Time, via Razor & Tie on August 31st. The album will be the first since the band signed to Razor & Tie in May 2010. Only Every Time was recorded in Baltimore where they worked with Brian McTernan, who produced several of the tracks that resulted in The Graduate’s signing to Razor & Tie.
Vocalist Corey Warning expressed his view on the album when he said, “We do see this album as an evolution of sorts. I think about bands that make the same record over and over again, and it has to be boring for them – and even more for the listener. We made sure we didn’t do that on this record.” While Only Every Time has the atmospheric feel for which The Graduate is known, it is definitely a different album than anything they have previously recorded.
Produced by Brian McTernan, who has previously worked with artists such as Thrice, Circa Survive, and Cave In, Only Every Time was recorded at McTernan’s Baltimore based studio, Salad Days Studio. Throughout the recording process, the idea of loneliness and being lost was consistently coming up, which is how the intriguing album artwork came to fruition. Artists Josh Kenyon and Colby Nichols, known as Jolby, discussed the feelings of being lost with Corey and came up with an icon that they felt represented the overall identity and feel of the album.
The Graduate will hit the road once again this August for a month of dates with The Brighter Lights. They will then join Ludo, off of Razor & Tie Music Publishing’s roster, for a two month nationwide tour throughout September and October kicking off in Chicago on September 9th and ending in Milwaukee on October 15th.

Terrible Things Set Release Date; Fall Tour With Mae
Terrible Things have set August 31st as the release date for their debut self-titled album. Terrible Things is Fred Mascherino (ex-Taking Back Sunday) Josh Eppard (Coheed & Cambria) and Andy Jackson (Hot Rod Circuit). Their self-titled major label debut was produced and mixed by Jason Elgin (Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster, Collective Soul) and mastered by Roger Lian (Bayside, Coheed & Cambria).
“The album cover is metaphoric to what was going on in my town last year and it was actually pretty emotional for me watching that house go up in flames,” Fred says of the image of his two children having a tea party while a nearby dollhouse is engulfed in flames.
Terrible Things is both a concept record as well as a fascinating and powerful rock debut. “It was great working with Jason [Elgin, producer],” continues Fred. “He’s been making records for a long time and understood that this band couldn’t just be put through a recording factory. We made this record the old-fashioned way. It wasn’t about fixing the song in mixing. It was about playing it right from the very beginning.” With songs like the propulsive “Revolution,” the surging bittersweet ballad “Lullaby” to the soberingly soaring “Hills of Birmingham”, the album is the sound of a band who’s combined the best of their storied pasts and fine-tuned it into one big powerful debut. “I think Andy and Josh would agree that this is the best record any of us have ever been a part of,” he concludes.
The band will be hitting the Warped Tour before setting out on a fall tour with Mae. Check out the tour dates below.

Recommendation: Closure in Moscow
Usually at large concert festivals such as Warped Tour, it’s unlikely that one will discover a new artist. I know that’s part of the purpose, but it’s hard considering the amount of bands one comes expecting to see. I usually am the kind of person who has a jammed packed Warped schedule, but this year, I took it easy. Which is precisely how I discovered Closure in Moscow. They were on a tiny stage, a distance from everything else. I was aimlessly walking when they took the stage. The singer, was wearing a white sparkly jacket, leggings and weird makeup. I was enchanted. He opened his mouth and I was in love. They’re Australian and a little bit like Anatomy of a Ghost (in the best way possible). I went home and immediately started soaking up their tunes and they’re just as wonderful as I imagined they’d be recorded.
