The Track Record has decided to call it a day. You can read the post the band made on their MySpace page below.
Hello everybody,
Today is an interesting day for us…it is a day that many could have predicted due to the lack of activity in our camp over the last couple months…..so, for the record, we have decided to stop playing music as The Track Record….we are breaking up or going on “indefinite hiatus,” if you will.
As much as this news brings us great sadness, it also brings with it a sense of relief in that the huge strain put on our personal lives by all of the bullshit that has happened to us as a band over the last year will cease to exist…and with that, an opportunity to explore areas of life previously unavailable to us due to the demands of being a full time band…it is not out of the question for us to involve ourselves in different musical projects in the coming months, but for the most part, we are all just excited to lead normal lives, relax, and enjoy the fleeting moments that are young adulthood.
That being said, throughout the summer we will be playing a handful of “farewell” shows in the MD / NJ / PA area. The exact amount of shows is yet to be determined as it is dependent upon how busy we are with various other aspects of our lives. If you are interested in booking us for one of our last shows, please email us at [email protected].
And of course, we will never forget the kind hearts of the people around us who made this adventure so special…to every single person who ever came to a show, bought a cd or merch, promoted our music in any way, fed us, partied with us, let us crash at their place etc., THANK YOU!…we owe you everything and will be forever grateful and appreciative…this would not have been possible without your love and support.
Collectively, these past 4+ years have been an absolutely amazing and fulfilling experience, and though the endeavor was not ultimately successful, we have few regrets in that we feel that we were lucky to have even lived our dream to this point…we have seen so many cool places and things, met so many crazy/beautiful people and done more shit than some people do in a lifetime…it is truly an experience that we could not have duplicated doing anything else.
Thank you and goodnight….we love you all
