Ultimately sophomore releases have been known for falling short and not living up to the expectations created by the debut effort. As much as I hate to say it, this album is no different. We’re in Like Sin showcases a band trying to find themselves and come into their own sound. Stylistically the record encompasses a variety of genres, from gritty rock to polished pop. Despite the diversity, the album fails to standout from the pack or make much of a sonic splash. I’m not sure if the New York quartet spread themselves too thin or possibly rushed the writing process, I just can’t help but feel that they somehow missed the mark. However there are some highlights such as the single “Your Life and Mine” and the closer, “I’ll Be Here” shows much promise. Just Surrender is still one of the brighter spots in the current scene, and will no doubt continue to thrive.
Recommend if you like: Boys Night Out, The Classic Crime, pop-punk with an edge.

Sum 41 Cancel Upcoming Tour Dates
Due to Deryck’s back injury, Sum 41 have been forced to cancel the rest of their tour dates this year. You can read a message from the band below.
As many of you have already heard, Deryck has suffered a herniated disk in his back and we were forced to cancel all shows scheduled for this year.
We’re sorry that this has happened and we hope our fans understand that there was nothing we could have done to prevent this.
We wish Deryck and quick and full recovery and can’t wait to reschedule all these shows in the new year and finally get back out on the road.

It’s been a year since we rambled about Kenotia, the female fronted band from Atlanta. Their new album, You’ve Dug Your Grave, Now Lie In It, has hit the streets and its rather pleasing to the ears. Pick up one of their sweet package deals or get the album for only $9 on iTunes.
This week marks the release of The Frantic‘s fast and fun album, Audio & Murder. If you’ve been itching for some new punk rock in your life then this is a great album for you (this should have been a summer album though).
This week also marks the release of Angels & Airwaves sophomore album, I-EMPIRE. I haven’t listened to this one enough to decide if its a step up from We Don’t Need To Whisper. Either way if you are a Tom Delonge fan you’ll probably dig it, if not who knows, give it a listen.

Attica! Attica! – raw emotion, politically charged, and completely endearing.
Say No More – very catchy indie-pop.
