Augustana are back (they never really left) and have announced they will hit the road this January for a three-week tour kicking off at House of Blues in Anaheim, CA on January 17th.
“There has been some confusion regarding the current state of Augustana,” says Dan Layus. “While some members have parted ways, Augustana will continue to tour and perform. We’ll be playing songs from all three albums and new material. We look forward to seeing you all in the New Year”
Released in April of 2011, Augustana’s self titled album was recorded in Los Angeles with Grammy Award-winning producer/engineer Jacquire King, who is known for his work with Kings of Leon and Norah Jones, among others. The album delivers on the emotionally resonant, rootsy pop/rock that Augustana have become known for.
Augustana launched onto the scene with their major-label debut, 2005’s All The Stars and Boulevards. The album reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. It also spawned two Top 40 hits, “Stars and Boulevards” and “Boston,” which was certified digital platinum. The band’s follow-up, 2008’s Can’t Love, Can’t Hurt spawned the singles “Sweet and Low,” and “I Still Ain’t Over You.”
